Thailand
An early morning start makes up for a terrible night on the clay beds. It's beautifully peaceful with a low mist in the valley. I sit with an ex-monk sharing the silence unsure whether to ruin the moment with the ugliness of my camera.

'The mind is complex, simple thoughts that's the aim', sang Ming, as she danced her way through crash course Buddhism.

Thailand, unlike its neighbours, had managed to evade the threat of imperialism.
I wonder if this is why in the North I find an older, more peaceful way of living, where mindful gratefulness for the world and it's beings is common amongst people.
